Our Story

"Selam" in Amharic, a language spoken in Ethiopia, means peace.

Before I developed Selam Skin, I had many skin issues: combo, oily in the T-zone, "sensitive" (or so I thought), breakout prone, out of balance, acne scars I just couldn't seem to get rid of, you name it.

It took many years of product hopping to try and help my acne (that eventually became cystic) for me to realize something had to change. I was tired of hiding my blemishes with makeup, clogging my pores even more, and never feeling my best.

Through years of trial and error I’ve found the perfect balance for my own skin and the skin of people around me. My goal is to relieve anxiety with my products at Selam Skin because who wants to worry about what new blemishes you'll wake up with in the morning? Not me!

Selam Skin is all about finding what products bring balance and peace to your skin and that is what I plan to do one customer at a time.
