8 skincare resolutions for 2024 and beyond

2024 is around the corner and you know what that means… resolutions! What are some skincare resolutions you can start and are they worth pursuing alongside the other classics like losing weight or making more money? The answer is an unequivocal YES because you will never regret spending money or time on healthy, glowing skin. After all it is the first thing people see about you.
Here are 8 skincare resolutions you can take with you in 2024 and beyond!
1. Clean out your old skincare
Do you have a huge stockpile of skincare products you’ve tried and not loved?
A large skincare collection means lots of unused products laying around and cluttering your space and MIND. Go through your skincare once every six months, keeping your favorites and must-haves and passing on the products that don’t work for you. Make this a habit!
2. Moisturize both morning and night
Moisturized skin is happy skin. When you moisturize in the morning, you rehydrate and plump your skin which helps your foundation look flawless. When you moisturize at night, you restore the moisture your skin has lost throughout the day so your skin can repair itself overnight.
And, regardless of your skin type there is a moisturizer out there for you.
3. Mask at least once a week
Using a face mask regularly can create seriously positive changes in your skin. Mask after cleansing one to three times every week to see the difference in your skin. While you wait for the mask to work its magic, put up your feet up and use it as a time to relax and unwind.
4. Exfoliate 2-3 times per week
What good is masking and moisturizing if your products can’t effectively absorb into your skin? Clear away dead skin cells and speed up cell turnover to reveal fresh, radiant skin by using either chemical or physical exfoliants.
5. Wear sunscreen DAILY!
You might get tired of hearing it, but we’ll never stop saying it: wear sunscreen every day! This is the number one most important thing you can do for your skin. Rain or shine, apply SPF to your face, neck and décoletté. And why stop there? All areas of exposed skin, including the forearms and the backs of your hands should be covered as well.
6. Remove makeup every single night
We know that after a long day of work or an even longer night out reaching over to wash your face can feel like the last thing you want to do. Please do it anyway. Nights are when your skin repairs itself, and makeup left on the skin doesn’t help the process. Avoid clogged pores and premature aging by developing a nightly skincare routine. It might not come naturally to you at the beginning but try removing your makeup right when you get home. To help you stay consistent, keep a backup bottle of makeup remover and cotton pads at your bedside table just in case you get too tired.
7. Wash your makeup brushes
We know washing makeup brushes is no fun, but it’s so important to rid your brushes of bacteria.
When you skip washing your brushes regularly bacteria builds up, causing acne and other skin issues. Keep in mind that when cared for, makeup brushes can last for years and years, saving you money as well!
8. Wear skin-healthy makeup
Skincare and makeup go hand in hand and they truly can work together. When you work so hard to keep your skin balanced, don’t undo it with pore-clogging makeup. Pay attention to the products you use when doing a full face of makeup. Invest in talc-free and non-comedogenic products so it won’t clog your pores, settle into fine lines, irritate the skin, and set back all the hard work you’ve put into your skincare.
Just remember that you are worth all of these changes and the new year is a perfect time to not only start but to also stay consistent with your skincare. You deserve the skin of your dreams and it is possible to achieve that in 2024 and beyond.
